The BIO-Boost™ System from TVT US Corp was installed at a Winery in Upstate New York and achieved positive results. The winery operates a biological, aerated lagoon system with an average 32000 GPD inflow that discharges to a trout stream. Winter operations starting with the crushing season have been able to compensate the high strength waste inflow and still achieve BOD reduction at an increased level. Summer operations still have residual oxygen in spite of higher temperatures. The BIO-Boost system has decreased power consumption between 30 and 40 %. Having placed the BIO-Boost System into the equalization basin saved electricity not only there, but also in basin #2 and #3 by continually increasing biofilm and there by exponentially increase treatment capacity throughout the system with less electricity. Additional benefits of the Bio-Boost System also include; Buffering increased BOD loading and hydraulic surges. Return to normal levels of BOD, in half the time compared to past history. Increased biological diversity and maintenance of higher levels of residual bacterial cultures also have been observed, as well as residual dissolved Oxygen. Limited flocking has previously occurred and now has increased to a more developed and constant flocking structure in the equalization basin.
